The East Asian Super League (EASL) announced on the 27th that it has signed a broadcasting rights contract with CJ ENM sports channel tvN Sports for the 2024-2025 season.
EASL, where East Asian professional basketball teams compete, will broadcast all games in Korea through tvN Sports and online video service (OTT) platform TVing.
The EASL 2024-2025 season will be held in the Philippines on October 2, with Busan KCC and Suwon kt, who played in the 2023-2024 championship game in Korea.
The EASL 2024-25 season will open on October 2 with a doubleheader at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines. The first match will be a showdown between kt and Philippine PBA San Miguel Biermann, which will be broadcast on television at 7 p.m. on the 2nd.
In the match between KT and San Miguel, a fierce match between Huh Hoon and Terence Romeo, who are considered the best point guards in both Korea and the Philippines, is expected to take place.
“The signing of a new media partnership with CJ ENM has made it easier to provide EASL broadcasts to Korean viewers,” EASL CEO Henry Kerins said. “CJ ENM will allow anyone to watch EASL games in Korea.”
Koo Kyo-eun, head of CJ ENM’s sports business division, said, “I’m happy to broadcast EASL on the tvN SPORTS channel,” adding, “Please watch where the East Asian basketball champion will be this season through tvN SPORTS.”
