I hope you return soon

KEPCO coach Kwon Young-min expressed regret over the news of former Hyundai Capital coach Choi Tae-woong’s dismissal and hoped to return to the court as soon as possible.

KEPCO crushed OK Financial Group with a set score of 3-0 (25-21 25-19 25-15) in the men’s third round away match of the “Dodram 2023-24 V League” held at Sangnoksu Gymnasium in Ansan on the 21st.

Korea Electric Power Corp., which had been in a losing streak after seven consecutive wins, won in three games and succeeded in turning the mood around.

Korea Electric Power Corp., which secured 27 points (9 wins and 8 losses), remained in fourth place, but narrowed the gap with third-place Korean Air (31 points) to four, threatening top-ranked teams.

After the game, head coach Kwon said, “A difficult situation could come as the reception was shaken in the middle of the first set, but thanks to Lim Sung-jin’s score, we were able to turn the tables,” adding, “Luckily, I think it was easy to win as the opponent Leo and Lee Min-kyu were missing.”

It is KEPCO that overwhelmed OK Financial Group in the height fight. Blocking 13-1 effectively blocked the opponent’s attack.

Coach Kwon explained, “OK Financial Group was originally a team with a high share of Leo, but it worked well to prevent it because it was mainly played by domestic players recently.”

Prior to the match between KEPCO and OK Financial Group, Hyundai Capital announced that it had replaced Choi Tae-woong due to poor performance.

Coach Kwon, who represented the V League when he was an active player with Choi, was quite surprised to hear the news.

Choi was a speculator who led the heyday of Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. Kwon was considered the best rival as the central command of Hyundai Capital.

When Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance recruited Park Chul-woo (currently KEPCO) as a free agent in 2010, Hyundai Capital nominated Choi as a compensation player, and two top V-League setters will coexist in one team.

Choi and Kwon, who had been a teammate of Hyundai Capital for five seasons, parted ways when Kwon left for KB Insurance ahead of the 2015-16 season. Choi became the first coach in the V-League to take the helm of Hyundai Capital in that season.

Coach Kwon said, “I like him and have a lot to learn, but I feel sorry for him as a coach,” adding, “I hope he takes a little rest and goes to another team coach soon.” 토토사이트
