MLB posted an image of Lee Jung-hoo’s post on its official SNS, announcing his career.

This image summarizes Lee Jung-hoo’s seven seasons in the KBO League. Lee Jung-hoo won the Rookie of the Year award in 2017, won the Golden Glove five times, was the MVP in 2022, and recorded a batting average of 0.340 OPS (on-base plus slugging) of 0.898515 RBIs.

MLB.COM ( ) announced the news of Lee Jung-hoo’s posting and explained that he had a good batting performance and a plus-class center fielder’s defense.

Another big club, the New York Mets, is also targeting Lee Jung-hoo. “The Mets are very interested in Lee Jung-hoo,” said Bob Nightingale of USA Today, a U.S. media outlet.

The New York Post, a U.S. media outlet, reported on November 24 that “20 teams, including the Yankees, are targeting him.”

Lee Jung-hoo’s agent Scott Boras said, “Lee Jung-hoo’s contact ability is remarkable. The strikeout rate is only 5.4%, which is unprecedented,” adding, “There is a center field premium. I think it will bring K-pop to MLB because I can defend and have power.”
