‘All-time monster’ Holland also targets Barcelona amid Real Madrid interest

Barcelona (Spain) wants to target Manchester City (England)’s Elling Holland (23).

“Barcelona are preparing to battle it out in the race to sign Manchester City superstar Elling Holland,” British soccer outlet 90min reported on Wednesday (April 13).

According to the report, Real Madrid (Spain) are keen on Holland and Barcelona are also preparing to make a move for him. Barcelona currently have world-class striker Robert Lewandowski () wearing the No. 9 shirt, but are considering Holland as his long-term replacement.

Holland joined City last summer and has been one of their best performers. In his first season in the English Premier League (EPL), he scored 36 goals to become the league’s top scorer and break the club’s all-time goalscoring record. In addition to winning the EPL, he also helped the club reach the top of the UEFA Champions League (UCL), the first treble in club history.

As a result, City are preparing to offer him a new contract to keep him. Holland has signed a five-year deal that will keep him at City until 2027, but reportedly includes a number of release clause options. While it’s not a sure thing, the clause allows him to leave in 2025 for a fee worth £150 million.

For Barcelona, the release clause is a positive. The club, which is 토토 currently in financial difficulties, believes it can raise enough money to sign Holland in two years’ time rather than now.

City are trying to convince Holland and his agent to remove the release clause and make him the highest-paid player in the EPL. But for now, they’re stuck because there’s no reason for him to do so.

Of course, Barcelona will have to compete with Real Madrid. Man City will also be desperate to keep hold of Holland. Barcelona will be out to get the best striker in the world, but it won’t be an easy fight.
