“I’m so touched.”

Wonju DB won the 2023-24 professional basketball 6th round home game against Suwon KT at Wonju Gymnasium on the 14th, winning 107-103 after extra time blood clots.

DB was able to finish first in the regular league with a victory on its home turf because of Didric Lawson.

Lawson scored as many as 47 points (eight rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks), overcoming the persistent chase of Heo Hoon and Paris Bath and protecting the DB.

“I’m so touched. My first goal after coming to the DB was the playoffs. Now, I rank No. 1 in the regular league. All the players including Kang Sang-jae, Kim Jong-kyu, and (Lee Sun) Albano enabled me to become a promising player. They helped me a lot. Thank you, thank you,” Lawson said after the game.

Lawson’s 47 points are the highest in a single game since his debut in the KBL. “My teammates set a really good screen,” Lawson said. “I heard that (Paris) Bath came to me and said, ‘If you hang the screen like you.’ I was able to score many points because Kang Sang-jae and Park In-woong hung the screen well.”

Lawson, who is also the most powerful MVP candidate for a foreign player this season, expressed his strong will, saying, “I also want to be the MVP.”
