Choi Ju-hwan led off with a single to center and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Go Young-woo. Kim Hui-jip then singled to left field, but Lim Ji-yeol walked to put runners on first and second, and Kim Jae-hyun’s single scored Choi Joo-hwan to give Kiwoom a 1-0 lead.
LG quickly equalized. Moon Sung-ju led off with a walk and advanced to third on a stolen base and a throwing error by the catcher. Then, on Oh Hwan’s grounder, Moon rushed home to tie the game at 1-1. Moon then walked, but Koo Bon-hyuk grounded out to shortstop to end the inning.
In the top of the third, Kiwoom regained the lead with two more runs. After Dawson’s grounder to second base, Kim Hye-sung and Lee Joo-hyung followed with back-to-back doubles to score one run. After Choi Joo-hwan struck out to end the inning, Kiwoom drew a 10-pitch walk to Ko Young-woo. Kim Hwijip then singled to left to load the bases, and Lim Ji-yeol drew a walk to push the score to 3-1.
In the bottom of the third inning, Hong Chang-ki doubled to left, Park Hae-min singled to center, Kim Hyun-soo grounded out to first base to put runners on second and third, and Austin’s grounder to shortstop scored Hong Chang-ki to make it 2-3, a one-run game.

LG continued to chase. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Oh Ji-hwan doubled to right, and Moon Bo-kyung’s bunt was a lucky hit, putting runners on first and third. Koo Bon-hyuk and Hong Chang-ki then followed with back-to-back singles to load the bases and cut the Kiwoom lead to 4-6.
In the top of the sixth inning, Kiwoom put runners on first and second with a walk to Ko Young-woo and a sacrifice bunt by Kim Hwi-jip, but 토토 when pinch-hitter Song Sung-moon faced substitute pitcher Kim Jin-sung, his forked ball sailed in front of the first baseman for an instant out, leaving Ko Young-woo, who could not return to first base, out.
In the meantime, LG scored one more run to put pressure on Kiwoom. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Koo Bon-hyuk drew a walk against Cho Sang-woo, who came up with the bases loaded, and with runners on first and third after Hong Chang-ki singled to right, Park Hae-min came home on a sacrifice fly to right field. The score is 5-6, just one run away.
LG tried to score more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning when Moon Sung-ju led off against Kim Sung-min, but Heo Do-hwan was caught stealing and the runners were stranded. Heo Do-hwan then stole second, creating the desired one-out, two-run situation, but the inning ended when Choi Won-young, who had advanced to third on a wild pitch after Oh’s grounder to center field, was thrown out at the plate.
Kiwoom also had a chance to capitalize. Kim Hye-sung led off with a walk and Lee Joo-hyung singled to right to put runners on first and third with nobody out, but Choi Joo-hwan grounded out to the shortstop on the first pitch and Lee Yong-kyu singled to center to end the threat. Neither team was able to capitalize after that. LG had runners on first and second with one out in the bottom of the ninth against Kiwoom’s closer, but failed to capitalize, allowing Kiwoom to hold on for the win.
Kiwoom started Furado, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits and four walks with two strikeouts in five innings to earn his fourth win of the season, followed by Cho Sang-woo, Kim Sung-min and Kim Jae-woong, who each pitched one scoreless inning to preserve the 6-5 lead until the final out.
Enns, on the other hand, took the loss after giving up six runs on nine hits and four walks with three strikeouts in 3⅔ innings, while Kim Dae-hyun (⅓ innings), Lee Woo-chan (1 inning), Baek Seung-hyun (⅓ inning), Kim Jin-sung (1 inning), Kim Yu-young (1 inning), and Park Myung-geun (1 inning) closed the door with scoreless innings.
