Korea Volleyball Association to host ‘Kim Yeon-kyung’s National Retirement Game’ on June 8 at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium

The “Kim Yeon-kyung National Retirement Game” and “National Retirement Ceremony” will be held on June 8 and 9 at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul, organized by the Korea Volleyball Association and co-hosted by Lion at & Next Creative.

Kim played for the national team for 16 years, from 2005 to 2007 and 2009 to 2021, and led Korea’s volleyball team to a fourth-place finish at the 2012 London Olympics, a gold medal at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, and a fourth-place finish at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The event will kick off with a media day and pre-event on June 7, followed by the official first day of the event on June 8, when Kim’s retirement match will take place at the 토토사이트 Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium.

The match will feature Korean women’s volleyball players such as Kim Soo-ji, Yang Hyo-jin, Bae Yuna, Kim Hee-jin, Kim Hae-ran, and Han Song-i.

Events such as the opening ceremony and player introductions will be held starting at 12:30 p.m., and the match will begin at 2 p.m. and last for two hours. A national retirement ceremony will be held immediately after the match for about 30 minutes.

On the second day, the 9th, Korean players will compete against their overseas teammates who have shared a cross-border friendship with Kim.

The World Women’s Volleyball All-Star Game, hosted by Kim’s agency, Lion At, and organized by Next Creative, will be held in conjunction with the launch of Kim’s charity foundation, the KYK Foundation.

In addition to Kim, the World Women’s Volleyball All-Star Game will feature top domestic and international players such as Sheila Castro, Natalia Pereira, Fabiana Claudino (Brazil), Miyu Nagaoka, Inoue Kotoe (Japan), and Pleumjit Tinkaow (Thailand).

Many more players were initially invited, but were unable to join due to national team commitments or personal commitments.

Tickets for Day 1, “Kim Yeon-kyung’s National Retirement Game,” will go on sale on May 20 at 8 p.m. and Day 2, “Kim Yeon-kyung Invitational World Women’s Volleyball All-Star Game,” will go on sale on May 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through the Ticketlink website and app.
