KT defeats Hanwha with Benjamin’s shutout pitch, 5th straight win

KT Wiz blew the whistle for their 5th consecutive win a day before the end of the first half.

KT defeated Hanwha Eagles 3-2 in the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League away game held at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on the 3rd.

Hanwha suffered three consecutive losses.

Then, in the 7th inning, leadoff hitter Hwang Jae-gyun hit a solo arch to left field, and in the 8th inning, Kang Baek-ho, Jang Seong-woo, and Oh Jae-il hit three consecutive hits to score one run.

Ryu Hyun-jin pitched well, throwing 104 pitches over 7 innings, striking out 8 batters and allowing 7 hits and 2 runs, but he did not receive any support from the batting lineup, ending the first half of the season with his 5th loss (5 wins).

Hanwha scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth with two outs and bases loaded on a center hit by Ahn Chi-hong after Benjamin Kang pitched, but failed to turn the game around.
