NC Peddie strikes out a career-high 12 in 6 scoreless innings vs. Doosan

NC Dinos ace Eric Peddie, 30, set a new KBO record for most strikeouts in a single game.

Pedi took the mound against the visiting Doosan Bears at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, on Sept. 19 and dominated the opposition with six innings of one-hit ball, 106 pitches, one walk and 12 strikeouts.

Pedi surpassed his previous single-game record of 11 strikeouts, which he recorded twice this season, by one.

Peddie, who leads the league in strikeouts with 181, is on pace to overtake Ahn Woo-jin (Kiwoom Heroes – 164), who is out for the season after being diagnosed with elbow surgery.

In the third inning, Pedi gave up a single to Park Kye-beom and a walk to Kim Jae-ho with runners on first and second.

After striking out Yang Seok-hwan, he retired six straight batters until the second batter of the fifth inning, Park Kye-beom.

In the sixth, Pedi retired Jung Soo-bin and Kim Jae-ho before getting Yang Seok-hwan to fly out to shortstop to end the inning.

The 12 strikeouts in a game is a KBO record, which was previously achieved twice this season by Ahn Woo-jin.

Pedi handed the mound to Kim Young-gyu in the top of the seventh inning with a 2-0 lead. 파워볼
