‘Park Ji-Soo’s 18 Points’ Women’s Basketball Wins North-South Showdown

The South Korean women’s basketball team smiled in a North-South showdown.

South Korea, led by Chung Sun-min, defeated North Korea 81-62 in the second game of the women’s basketball Group C at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games 온라인카지노 at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China on Monday.

South Korea has won two straight games, defeating Thailand and North Korea. They will play their final group game on Oct. 1 against Chinese Taipei.

This is the first North-South matchup in team ball games at the tournament. Things didn’t start well for South Korea. They struggled against North Korea’s 205-centimeter center Park Jin-ah and were down 11-21 at one point in the second quarter.

South Korea rallied with four straight points from Park Ji-soo (KB), and then Lee Hae-ran (Samsung Life) and Park Ji-soo combined to pull ahead 22-21.

With the game tightly contested, Lee So-hee (BNK) scored back-to-back points to give Korea a 29-25 lead, and Kim Dan-bi and Park Ji-hyun (Woori Bank) added to the scoring streak to end the half with a 33-25 lead.

South Korea widened the gap in the third quarter. With the momentum on their side, the Koreans never gave North Korea a chance to catch up and cruised to a 19-point victory.

Ace Park Ji-soo led the way with 18 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, four steals and three blocked shots. Kim Dan-bi and Kang Yi-seul (KB-over 16 points) also chipped in with double-digit scoring.
