Las Vegas Sands’ Paris Macao will finally open its doors to the public on Sept. 13, and Sands China, a subsidiary of LVS, is planning many exciting events for the grand opening. The $3 billion luxury casino is a Paris-themed resort located in the Cotai district, which also welcomed the $4.1 billion Win Palace in August.
On opening night, fireworks and light shows will be held at the Eiffel Tower replica, which is half the size of the original Eiffel Tower, making it the largest replica in the world. Sands China is also running a number of special promotions just for the locals as a thank you for their support. Residents are required to show a valid Macao ID to take advantage of these offers. This special promotion is offered under the promotion ‘Parisians Love the Locals’ and runs from September 14 to September 29.
Some of the services offered under the promotion include 25% off more than 50 restaurants and cafes under the Sands China brand, 20% off the Cotai Water Jet Ferry service, 30% off the best flexible fare available at all properties except Four Seasons Macao, and 20% off tickets to the Thriller Live show celebrating the life and music of King of Pop Michael Jackson.
Wilfred Wong, COO and President of Sands China, said in a statement, “To express our dedication and appreciation for the Macau community during this celebration, we are pleased to extend this celebration to a full two weeks. Under the umbrella of the ‘Parisian Loves Locals’ campaign, a series of special events across all Sands China properties have been planned to encourage Macau locals to participate in the celebration.”
The Paris Macao resort will open with 135,000 square feet of gaming and 410 gaming tables, which have been transferred from 100 new market tables and other Sands China properties approved by Macau regulators. There is also a convention center over 55,000 square feet, a special Paris shopping mall, a water theme park covering 320,000 square feet, and a hotel with 3,000 luxury rooms and suites, along with a theater that can seat up to 320,000 square feet. The Paris facility also features seven high-end restaurants, a health club, a spa, and a special Eiffel Tower model that serves a variety of foods, including French, Chinese, and Cantonese.
One of the unique features of this $3 billion luxury casino resort is that it is highly environmentally conscious and all the lights used to illuminate the replica Eiffel Tower are LED lights. The resort also used low-flow water facilities, which are expected to reduce the resort’s water use by more than 40 percent compared to other older facilities.
