Northern Lights is Minnesota’s home for the event for the second straight year, and is the only tribally owned venue in the state that is hosting a satellite tournament.
The winner of the tournament will join the world’s best professional poker players at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut for the World Poker Finals, November 13 through November 17.
Contestants can enter the No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em satellite tournament Thursdays and Sundays through October 24 in the Northern Lights Poker Room, with the Finals to be held Sunday, October 24. Thursday tournaments begin at 6 p.m., while players should be in place by noon for the Sunday events.
“We’re very excited about hosting such a prestigious event two years in a row,” said Shawn Moore, table games manager. He added, “The turnout for the tournament has been great so far, and we’ve had to nearly double the amount of tables we normally use in the poker room.”
The winner of the tournament will have their $10,000 buy-in at the World Poker Finals paid for by Northern Lights in addition to six days of VIP treatment at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, site of the World Poker Finals.
