Women’s volleyball team GS Caltex parted ways with coach Cha Sang-hyun
Women’s volleyball GS Caltex ends its eight-year association with coach Sang-hyun Cha with the end of this season.
After the game against Heungkuk Life Insurance, the final game of the regular season, on the 15th, the GS Caltex club said, “We discussed the future of the club with coach Sang-Hyun Cha, who led the team for a long time and brought it to the ranks of strong teams, and decided not to renew the contract after careful consideration for the sake of each other’s development. “He announced.
Coach Cha took over as head coach of GS Caltex during the season in December 2016 and took charge for the first time.
With his unique communication skills and strong charisma, he received great trust from players, and led GS Caltex to its heyday with young and dynamic speed volleyball.
In the 2020-2021 season, they achieved the treble (winning the cup and championship game and taking first place in the regular league simultaneously in one season) for the first time in women’s professional volleyball history.
This season, GS Caltex had spring volleyball in sight until the first half of the year, but fell into a slump in the second half and ended up finishing the season in 4th place and failing to advance to the postseason.
Coach Cha said, “I was happy to be able to coach in a good environment. I am sincerely grateful to the fans who consistently supported me even in difficult situations and to the club for supporting the team both financially and emotionally. I will continue to support GS Caltex in the future.”
The GS Caltex club plans to make every effort to select a successor manager who will develop the team and renew the atmosphere. 성인웹툰
