Paramount Pictures plans to add a theme park to its casino complex resort in South Korea.

The Connecticut-based casino operator detailed in an official press release Thursday that it has agreed to see a 99-acre attraction branded with the film’s popular works included in the $1.6 billion project Inspire development to be located next to Incheon International Airport.

Mohigan Gaming, a federally recognized Mohigan Tribe company, further explained that it expects the theme park to open around 2025 as part of Phase 2 of Project Inspire’s development and connect directly to the venue’s upcoming retail and entertainment towns.

The chairman of the Mohigan Tribe, Kevin Brown, declared in May he was ‘proud’ to form an alliance with Hollywood-based Paramount Pictures Corporation, a subsidiary of U.S. media giant Viacom, before announcing he expects to begin work on the first phase of the project Inspire.

“The Inspire integrated entertainment resort model, along with Paramount [Pictures Corporation] today, not only demonstrates our commitment to setting trends in this industry, but also shows our commitment to growing our travel, tourism and workforce development goals while ensuring generational sustainability.”

Mohegan also said the first phase of Project Inspire is expected to open a five-star hotel with 1,250 rooms, suites and villas in 2022 with a foreigner-only casino with about 700 slots and 150 game tables. It noted that the early stages of development of the 420 acre would be completed with a 15,000-seat sports and concert arena and about 204,000 square meters of convention and conference space.

Kevin Ser, Executive Vice President of Theme Entertainment at Paramount Pictures Corporation, declared his company now ‘expects’ to open a theme park in Project Inspire and become ‘one of the world’s first entertainment destinations’
